The advantage of being able to choose additional Light Equipment is that it allows secondary carry champions to shine brightly when equipped with more items and deal effective damage. These units usually play a supportive role, helping to increase the damage for the main carry who has higher level and bigger items. However, with the ability to obtain additional items at the end of the match, these secondary carry champions will have a more significant impact.
Moreover, having an extra chance to choose a Light Equipment item also helps players with low “natural luck” have the opportunity to optimize items for their carry. Many matches you might face a situation where you receive terrible items and only manage to combine 1-2 items suitable for your main carry during the game. Being able to select a Light Equipment item in round 5-2 will help players find ways to optimize their items for their main carry.
However, we must consider the randomness factor of this feature, which means you can only select the second Light Equipment in round 5-2. At this point, most players have already determined their main carry or team composition. In fact, many players are still combining items for champions that are crucial in their team. If you are playing teams that only use one 5-gold carry, the second Light Equipment may not yield much value.
Furthermore, the critical point of the Light Equipment selection round is the high “luck” factor involved. Sometimes you might find yourself in an incredibly unfortunate situation where neither of the Light Equipment items you select are suitable for your team composition. Your opponent might not have any Light Equipment suitable for all their champions. It would be frustrating if you had to select the Gemstone Gauntlet while playing a team composition focused on dealing physical damage.
