Faker is truly vital to T1
After several members of T1 2025 have taken to streaming to share their personal perspectives on the journey alongside the team during a season full of ups and downs, it was recently Keria’s turn to go live. Of course, it would be impossible at this moment for Keria to mention Gumayusi’s departure, but the T1 Support did not hesitate to shower praises on his senior captain, Faker. Notably, he emphasized Faker’s importance in T1’s journey during Worlds 2025.

Accordingly, Keria stated: “I really thought the team could lose to AL in the Quarterfinals. But after Game 1, that thought disappeared. Faker made calls so accurately that I realized his game sense is on a completely different level. That was how Faker played throughout that match.”
At the same time, Keria also admitted that the match against AL in the Quarterfinals was the one he felt least confident in and also the match that the T1 Support assessed as the toughest in T1’s entire journey at Worlds 2025. In fact, right after the match concluded, many opinions suggested that this deserved to be called an “early final” and T1 showcased a cold confidence, even when they had to play a deciding Game 5.

Faker’s job in the new season will be even harder
After a successful season, T1 continues to bid farewell to a second player in the ZOFGK roster, and this time it is even more significant than Zeus, namely Gumayusi. They brought in a young and talented player, Peyz. However, in terms of composure and experience, Peyz will be hard-pressed to compare with the senior who just left. Thus, Faker not only continues to play the leading role but also needs to help the rookie integrate into T1.

This is not an easy task, as Peyz’s playstyle will have its own strengths and weaknesses. And indeed, if Faker can guide Peyz to another Worlds championship, perhaps Riot will really need to honor Faker even more grandly than the HoL skin two years ago.
