Hyper-roll Kled
At the recent Teamfight Tactics World Championship: Reckoning, player DeliciousMilk drew attention by continuously spamming the hyper-roll Kled composition. As a result, he secured a top 3 position in the world thanks to this incredibly powerful composition, as Kled proved to be a dominant carry at 3 stars. Even when players are heavily defeated and lose a lot of health, as long as you can get Kled to 3 stars with full items, you still have a chance to place in the top 4.

This proved to be extremely unbalanced as Kled is still only a 1-cost unit, making such power difficult to accept. Therefore, in patch 11.20, Riot heavily nerfed the interaction rate with Attack Damage from Kled’s skill and the bonus attack speed at the 6 Demon threshold. These changes immediately took effect as the hyper-roll Kled team became the composition with the highest average placement increase (i.e., the highest rate of “falling” out of the top 4) at this time.

Aphelios and Friends
Perhaps we don’t need to say much about Aphelios’s dominance as this unit is incredibly versatile in terms of damage output. Moreover, having Diana in the composition allows teams built around Aphelios to effectively neutralize the enemy’s main damage dealer. In fact, in some cases, when Diana accurately casts Moonsilver, Aphelios can take down the opponent’s carry with his skill, Dark Harvest.

However, in patch 11.20, Aphelios is no longer an effective option for climbing ranks as this unit has been nerfed. With the maximum energy increased to 170, Aphelios’s ability to cast spells will be significantly limited during the mid-game. We should remember that Aphelios’s standard item build, besides Infinity Edge, has no items that provide energy. Thus, the aforementioned nerf has resulted in this composition’s damage output being relatively weaker compared to the previous patch.
6 Blademasters
Since his introduction in patch 5.5, Lucian has consistently been a strong carry with high damage from his spell, Purge. Combined with the Blademaster trait having its shield targeting mechanism adjusted, Lucian and this trait have become even stronger in recent patches. Nevertheless, the power of this composition has notably decreased in patch 11.20 as the shields and bonus attack speed granted by the Blademaster trait have been nerfed at the 6-unit threshold.

We need to remember that the additional attack speed stat will affect the number of bullets, i.e., Lucian’s damage output. The nerf to the attack speed in the Blademaster shield will decrease the damage this composition provides compared to before. In a meta where players often tend to build healing items for carries, Lucian’s reduced damage will give opponents a higher chance of survival, which is something nobody wants.
