More Evidence of Riot’s “Laziness”: Fiddlesticks Rework Over a Year, Old Splash Art Still Unchanged

Riot may be too focused on creating new cinematic universes and forgetting about League of Legends.

After the success of the Arcane series, the League of Legends community in particular and fans of the show in general are surely waiting for Riot to release more new cinematic products. And even the “father” of League of Legends hinted that a second season will come in 2022. This is great news and it is clear that Riot is seriously investing in the cinematic universe based on the stories across their entire Runeterra.

However, the truth is that while Riot starts developing its cinematic branch, League of Legends players seem quite disillusioned with how this publisher is taking care of the “national” game. Specifically, besides the bugs that have existed for many years, even since League of Legends first launched, Riot also appears to be quite “lazy” in updating images related to champions that have been reworked. The case in point here is Fiddlesticks – The Ancient Fear.

Recently, a netizen was extremely upset to accuse Riot of not updating the new splash art for Fiddlesticks even though this champion was reworked over a year and a half ago. Even when the League of Legends website interface was updated by Riot, Fiddlesticks’ splash art still remains… the same old one.

Under the post, many players pointed out that Riot had mentioned a new skin for Fiddlesticks after reworking this champion during the Pre-Season 2021. As we know, the Scarecrow has almost disappeared from the professional League of Legends arena, is rarely used in ranked matches, and has not appeared in any meta since being reworked, and of course, no skins have been released.

Many players pointed out that Riot does not focus on fixing bugs in the game immediately after reports, and the skin for Fiddlesticks promised since Pre-Season 2021 has yet to be seen

Perhaps after the complaints from the League of Legends community, Riot can make adjustments and make Fiddlesticks “overpowered”. However, the main issue is that Riot appears quite indifferent to League of Legends, which truly makes players of this game unsatisfied. In the long term, this can easily affect Riot’s ambition to build a universe based on Runeterra, especially when the initial audience this publisher aims for feels their gaming experience is not respected enough.
