Iron Solari Chain
To say it mildly, this item has the potential to snowball games like no other in Teamfight Tactics. Typically, during the mid-game phase, you will have around 3-4 frontline champions (depending on your composition). Therefore, when Iron Solari Chain is held by a champion at level 2 star, it can provide a shield value of 1050-1400. Keep in mind that at this stage, powerful 4-cost carries are rarely upgraded to 2-star, making the aforementioned shield value even more significant.

However, the downside of this item is that it has too valuable components, making it rarely crafted. With the Giant’s Rod, players often aim for items that significantly boost spell damage. Meanwhile, Thornmail or Stoneplate are the items people think of when they have Cloth Armor. This aspect results in Iron Solari Chain having an extremely low crafting rate despite its immense power.
Chalice of Power
One interesting aspect of Teamfight Tactics is that the damage potential of champions can be enhanced by all types of stats. Even for units dealing purely physical damage, the skill damage stats can still help them deal more damage. Therefore, Chalice of Power is an incredibly strong item in the late game as it allows carries (even when fully equipped) to deal even more powerful damage.

Despite its strength, Chalice of Power has a very low crafting rate. The primary reason is probably that the Mage composition has been nerfed and is no longer as strong. Clearly, with the most effective composition using Chalice of Power being “discarded,” this item is even less frequently used. Additionally, having to craft from a lower-value item like Silver Cloak further alienates this item.
Stillness Cloak
If you pay a little attention, many of the hot champions in season 6 possess a very high maximum mana. From Janna, Galio, Orianna to Kai’Sa, Seraphine… all have maximum mana above 100 points. Therefore, Stillness Cloak becomes an extremely strong item in season 6 as it can counter many powerful units. In reality, this item is not as “discarded” as the two items mentioned above, but it still faces significant issues that make players hesitant to craft Stillness Cloak.

Basically, Stillness Cloak, apart from increasing the maximum mana of opponents, does not provide any damage potential for the team. Clearly, with the current meta heavily emphasizing damage, an item that does not provide any damage potential is not prioritized by players. Therefore, Stillness Cloak remains just a counter item and is only crafted in the late game to counter certain champions.
