One of the factors in League of Legends that gamers are very concerned about is the issue of champion skins. Not only for aesthetics, some skins can actually impact gameplay. For example, the Tryndamere Battlecast skin or the Varus Battlecaster…

However, according to the League of Legends community, more and more new skins brought by Riot to players are becoming… similar to each other and resembling previously released skins. According to a post on Reddit, a gamer pointed out the similarities between the Kai’Sa Dragon Lady skin and the Zyra Crystal Rose skin. It can be said that the overall character design of these two skins is quite similar, in terms of hairstyle, costume accessories… The only difference seems to be the dominant color of these two skin lines.

The post received quite a bit of support from the League of Legends gaming community. Not only Kai’Sa – Zyra, many people also pointed out that several other skins are almost identical, if not similar in terms of design, then they are alike in terms of skill effects. A prime example is the Lux Cosmic Goddess skin which can easily be confused with the Soraka High Priestess skin.

Not just about the skins, some opinions also pointed out that the splash art of champions is increasingly different from reality. An example given by gamers is the case of the Sivir Battle Princess skin, where they believe the weapon of this champion in the splash art is quite different from in-game.

And although Riot has previously spoken about this issue, stating that they would strive to improve the quality of the game as well as the skins and effects… the 2021 season has ended and many have pointed out that nothing has really changed. For instance, even now, the splash art of Fiddlesticks has still not been changed on the League of Legends homepage.

Perhaps soon, Riot really needs to seriously reconsider their new skin lines. Because surely, no gamer wants to spend a significant amount of money to own skins that are no different from those of other champions released earlier.
