A few days ago, Riot released the splash art for the new champion Zeri. According to what was revealed, she is a marksman from Zaun and her abilities revolve around electricity. Notably, based on the previous splash art, it can be said that the new champion Zeri is extremely agile, just as her descriptions suggest: she moves constantly. It can be said that this new champion will be another agile marksman, but when her splash art was released, many were still left guessing about her abilities.

Recently, to satisfy the anticipation of the gaming community, Riot also released a clip showcasing Zeri’s skill set. As expected, this champion is extremely mobile, and her abilities are quite visually appealing with dazzling electric sparks every time she attacks. What’s particularly interesting is that even Zeri’s basic attacks are quite unusual. Instead of firing a single projectile like Lucian or Jhin, her basic attack behaves similarly to Lucian’s R – Final Spark, unleashing a barrage of bullets. Additionally, Zeri can be seen as an effective counter to tanks with her ability to steal shields from opponents, as shown in the clip where she steals Urgot’s shield.
Zeri’s ultimate ability is quite impressive with a wide area of effect. Although the specific utility of this skill is not yet clear, it may increase Zeri’s damage output. And since the clip focuses solely on this champion, it is impossible to guess whether Zeri’s abilities have any impact on allied champions. Furthermore, Zeri also has the ability to traverse terrain similarly to Talon.
Additionally, Zeri has sparked a lot of mixed comments regarding her skill set. Some League of Legends fans remarked that her abilities, including basic attacks, seem to combine skills from various other champions.

However, there are also many opinions stating that Riot is genuinely running out of ideas when it comes to creating purely unique champions like in the past. In earlier stages, only a few names like Tristana, Lucian, Vayne, and Ezreal had “dash” abilities that allowed them to escape when necessary, while the majority, like Jhin, Caitlyn, Jinx, and even “200 years of game experience” Aphelios, needed equipment to protect themselves. Recently, new champions have been given excessive dashing abilities (Viego, Gwen, Akshan, Vex, and now Zeri).

In the near future, details about each skill of the new champion Zeri will be officially announced. The League of Legends community will certainly not be looking forward to another champion carrying “200 years of game experience” from Riot appearing in Summoner’s Rift, especially when champions like Viego, Vex, Gwen, and Aphelios are still proving to be overwhelmingly powerful.
