Faker Becomes the Next “Victim” of T1 – Smash as Gumayusi Sits on the Bench
The match against HLE can be described as a “disaster” for T1. Perhaps, even at a time when they are considered their weakest (2024), T1 has never lost to an opponent in such a pathetic manner. It feels as if only HLE are the professional players while T1 consists of 5 gamers thrown together just to form a team. Clearly, the blame lies with all the members, including the coaching staff and players. However, the T1 anti-fans, T1Gall, have continued to find a new “culprit” with Gumayusi on the bench, and that is Faker.
Specifically, there have been posts criticizing Faker’s KDA of 0/7/1 in game 2 against HLE. These anti-fans even dug up previous posts from Faker about his time on the bench to criticize or mock T1’s Mid Laner.
This Time, Faker’s Fans Might “Counterattack”
In reality, the match showed that with the champion Viktor – a champion that requires a lot of time to become strong, Faker clearly couldn’t do anything else. Not to mention, the opponent was Sylas in Zeka’s hands and T1 was losing in all 3 lanes before Faker had that “disastrous” KDA. Even Oner could hardly move to the mid lane to support Faker when Zeka – Peanut played too tightly.
Furthermore, League of Legends has always been a team game where early bans and picks can affect the entire match. Therefore, if there is someone to blame first, it is the responsibility of T1’s coaching staff. They used a champion that is very difficult to operate currently (Corki) in game 1 for Smash, and then a duo ADC strategy (a playstyle that requires excellent lane skill) even though they knew Smash’s weakness was in the laning phase.
Poor decision-making led to a chain of consequences, and T1’s defeat came as an inevitability. In this loss, no one is without fault. But if using Faker to protect Smash, Faker’s fans might make these anti-fans “pay” for their reckless behavior.
