The Power of the “Duo” Rengar – Jinx in TFT Season 14
In TFT Season 14, Rengar is identified as an incredibly powerful and annoying melee carry. Not only does he have high damage output, but his abilities also allow Rengar to heal and sustain in fights very well. Even after a slight damage nerf in patch 14.1b, Rengar still proves to be an exceptionally strong carry capable of quickly cleaning up the enemy backline.

The biggest weakness of Rengar is during his initial spell casts; he struggles to take down tanky opponents and reach the backline. To address this, top players on the LPL server have turned to Jinx, who has the ability to deal massive burst damage every time she casts her abilities. The unique aspect here is that both Jinx and Rengar cost 3 gold and belong to the Shadow Isles trait. This allows players to apply a reroll strategy at level 7 to upgrade both champions to 3 stars while still saving gold, activating the super-strong 3-5 Shadow Isles threshold in the mid-game.
Building a Shadow Isles Team Composition in TFT Season 14
In the early game, players should buy cheap yet valuable Shadow Isles champions such as Dr. Mundo, Ekko, or Zyra to activate the 3 champion threshold and gain additional stats. Next, Jhin will be a valuable purchase at this stage as he can equip Jinx with excellent items. Additionally, Brawlers like Darius, Gragas, or Alistar are also very important at this stage as they help make the frontline of the team tougher.

By the time players reach level 7, they will apply a slow roll strategy to find and upgrade Rengar and Jinx in their team. Additionally, Varus is a reasonable addition at this stage as he activates the 2 Blademaster threshold for Rengar and provides crowd control. This significantly enhances Rengar’s damage output and allows Jinx to cast her abilities as many times as possible.

After upgrading Jinx and Rengar to 3 stars, players will need to quickly reach level 9 to add expensive units like Samira and Brand. These will help players complete the 7 Shadow Isles threshold and provide significant additional damage for the team. Furthermore, Vex is also a very valuable addition at this stage as its Mystic effect provides extra critical strike chance, which is very important for Rengar and Jinx.

Some Tips When Building Your Team Composition
Although Jinx is a ranged carry, her playstyle does not fit well with Guinsoo’s Rageblade. Players should aim for a build including Spear of Shojin, Infinity Edge, and Blue Bow for additional damage and armor penetration. Meanwhile, Rengar will greatly benefit from the Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster to sustain in fights as best as possible. A small note is that Shadow Isles champions (including both Rengar and Jinx) interact well with items that create effects. Therefore, players should select cores that provide effect items whenever possible to further boost the damage output of these key carries.
