Faker has been almost completely silent throughout the T1 drama
Throughout the series of dramas surrounding T1 from November 2024 (the time when the Zeus incident exploded) until now, there has been one figure that the League of Legends community and T1 fans have eagerly awaited to speak up, yet he has remained almost completely silent, that is Faker. Since the transfer drama involving Zeus erupted, Faker has only mentioned the dramas three times. And all three instances were just general comments, calling for fans to continue supporting the players mentioned in the story (Zeus and Gumayusi).

However, in reality, Faker’s silence, considering his always maximum professional demeanor as the “Demon King”, makes his near-total silence throughout the drama completely understandable.
Faker cannot override T1’s coach
Currently, at T1, while Faker nominally holds shares, his main role is still that of a player. Moreover, on the coaching staff is KkOma – Faker’s close mentor, while Tom and Mata are also not strangers to him. Therefore, Faker can intervene in technical issues such as game operations or the strengths and weaknesses during matches. The remaining issues lie with the coaching staff and the team’s management.

Therefore, Faker cannot share anything about the transfer of Zeus or interfere with the personnel decisions regarding Gumayusi. Not to mention, anti-fans attacked CEO Joe for stating, “interfering to bring Gumayusi into the main lineup.” But in the role of CEO, he still has authority. If it were Faker, even Gumayusi himself would be in even more trouble.
Perhaps it’s not yet time for Faker to speak up internally at T1
Remember, in 2021, when Coach Daeny continuously rotated the lineup and Faker had to frequently sit on the bench while also being subtly attacked in the media, by the middle of the Summer Split, he could no longer hold back and spoke up. But at that time, not only were T1’s interests and achievements affected, but Faker himself was also “one of the insiders”.

Regarding the drama of Zeus, there are many external factors at play. As for the drama surrounding Gumayusi, after all, it’s just a story involving T1 and the AD Carry born in 2002. Even if there’s some distant relation, in T1, Gumayusi and Faker are just teammates. Furthermore, T1’s performance at the LCK Cup 2025 is hard to overlook. Meanwhile, the 2025 Regular Season has only gone through 4 matches, and it’s still too early to predict anything.
Therefore, it could be that even Faker himself does not feel the need to personally speak up. Because once Faker acts, T1 will surely have to make changes, and there will be consequences behind that. Perhaps Faker is just observing and waiting for the right moment, possibly when T1 can no longer control their match results.
