In the early days of the new year, not only major tournaments like LPL or LCK but also in Vietnam, League of Legends players have taken a break to celebrate Tet after a tense VCS Winter 2021 and are gearing up for the qualifying matches to select representatives for SEA Games 31. Moreover, after this qualifier ends, VCS Spring 2022 awaits, a tournament that Vietnamese League of Legends fans are eagerly anticipating.
However, even during this break, one ‘specialty’ of VCS is the ongoing drama. Just at the beginning of the year, a drama involving two well-known names in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene, EGO and Zeros, has attracted significant attention from the online community. While EGO is the superstar of CERBERUS Esports, playing a major role in the team’s first VCS championship, Zeros is the infamous ‘king of penalties’ in Vietnamese League of Legends, a reputation that has even reached the international community.
The source of the issue is unclear, but currently, EGO and Zeros are the two names most frequently mentioned. In a recently posted status, EGO demanded anyone who has evidence claiming he flirted with a female character named L. to come forward. However, this status was quickly deleted after a short time. Prior to that, someone even captured a threatening comment from EGO directed at Zeros, which, of course, has also been deleted.
As for Zeros, the former star of SBTC Esports has not publicly acknowledged any conflict with EGO, as clips from livestreams mentioning this issue have all been deleted. However, during a recent stream on February 1st, when a fan asked how the situation between Zeros and EGO was progressing, Zeros simply stated that he had to “lock the door carefully, using 3 locks.”
The female character named L. mentioned by EGO in his post, along with the situation related to Zeros, has led many to believe it could be Lai Lai – Zeros’ girlfriend. However, in a recent development, Lai Lai herself stated that she only sees EGO as a younger brother and that she is not involved in any issues between EGO and Zeros, so currently, everything remains speculation.
