Currently, the two biggest tournaments in the League of Legends scene worldwide, LCK and LPL, are on their Lunar New Year break. However, LCK fans are keenly interested in the voting for the roster to participate in the Asian Games 2022, organized by the local media. This sporting event is highly anticipated in 2022. Notably, this event gains even more significance as it marks the first time Esports has officially become a medal-contending discipline.

In the LCK region, currently, the positions are largely predictable. In the top lane, with players like Khan and Nuguri no longer competing, and TheShy not being considered by LCK fans, Rascal – the top laner of KT Rolster is leading with the highest votes among players. In the jungle position, no one surpasses Canyon – who, alongside ShowMaker, plays a pivotal role in DWG KIA’s gameplay. The bot lane sees a significant surprise as Gumayusi – Keria from T1 are rated higher than the veteran duo Deft – BeryL.

However, despite the surprises in other positions, in the mid lane, Faker remains “the one and only.” In fact, as of February 1st, with 57 votes, Faker has more votes than all top-rated players in other positions.

For LCK fans, Faker is still an irreplaceable name, especially in polls to find an ideal roster to represent Korea’s League of Legends scene. Moreover, there are high hopes that Faker will win the gold medal at the Asian Games 2022, which may exempt him from mandatory military service, allowing him to fulfill special military obligations without needing to go through any laws (currently, South Korean authorities are still debating Faker’s military service situation).

With all these factors in play, it can be said that Faker’s appearance in the representative roster for Korea at the Asian Games 2022 in League of Legends is almost certain. However, it would be even more convincing if Faker and his teammates could bring home the title for T1, especially in the current Spring 2022 season. Particularly as, like Faker, T1’s players are featured in most voting categories, and the bot lane duo Gumayusi – Keria is also leading over their more experienced counterparts.
