On the evening of February 3rd, the VCS community was shaken when former SBTC Esports star Zeros unexpectedly posted about exposing a player competing for CERBERUS Esports – EGO. Once close friends, due to some minor disputes, these two have now “turned from friends to foes.” However, the damage to EGO is substantial as he is a name that the Vietnamese League of Legends community has high hopes for, especially after playing a significant role in helping CES win the VCS Winter 2021 championship.
While Vietnamese League of Legends fans were busy discussing the drama at the beginning of the Year of the Tiger 2022, by the end of the day, EGO’s team finally spoke out. CES stated in an official announcement that they will “always maintain the stance of building a team and players that operate in a friendly and professional manner. Any behavior that affects the image of the team in particular and Esports in general will be reviewed and addressed.”
Below the post, VCS fans in general and CES fans in particular continue to criticize the young jungler. Many also suggested that the “Cerberus” team take reasonable measures to resolve this incident. In addition to the clear disappointment towards a talented player who seemed to have said no to drama, many believe that if necessary, CES could take strong action against EGO. This player has ample talent but is entangled in troubles that impact the team’s image, dragging many unrelated individuals into the situation, such as SofM or SE’s management…
For EGO, while this incident may not fall under professional conduct or impact the VCS tournament, he and CES will certainly face significant damage regarding reputation and image. Regardless of how the situation is ultimately resolved, EGO must view this as a lifelong lesson, especially since he is still a talented, young professional player with many opportunities to grow in the future. If he allows these troubles to ruin his career, it would be a regrettable outcome not just for EGO or CES but for the entire Vietnamese League of Legends scene.
