Next Opponent Prediction Feature
In Teamfight Tactics, knowing who your next opponent is can be extremely important, especially in the late game. This allows players to strategize their positioning, arrange their team composition wisely, avoid being countered by their rivals, and potentially secure victory. This skill becomes crucial for high-ranked players, as a single misstep can lead to an early elimination.

In the upcoming Season 6.5, Riot Games will introduce a next opponent prediction feature to better assist players. Specifically, after each round, a certain number of crossed sword icons will appear next to the opponent’s icon to indicate that they could be the next opponent you face in the upcoming round. Of course, Riot Games won’t tell you exactly who your next opponent is, but narrowing down the possibilities will help players save a lot of time “scouting” their adversaries.
Match History Displays Technology Cores
As soon as technology cores were introduced in Season 6, they became an incredibly successful feature embraced by the community. Moreover, they proved their importance by guiding players on how to build their teams effectively. Additionally, choosing the right technology core is a skill that must be honed, as it becomes increasingly significant for Teamfight Tactics players.

Understanding this, Riot Games has added a feature to display the technology cores used by players in their match history. This helps players analyze and identify mistakes when choosing an unsuitable technology core or discover a powerful “wombo combo” upgrade to apply in future matches. With Riot confirming that they will retain this hextech upgrade feature in Season 7, displaying technology cores in match history is essential.
New Core and New Team Composition Strategies
In Season 6, we are certainly familiar with the core “Unique Path” which allows players to build teams without activating traits. In the upcoming Season 6.5, Riot will continue to release a core with a similar function named “Double Trouble.” Essentially, when using 2 identical champions on the battlefield, they will receive a significant boost in attack and defense stats. Even if you upgrade that unit to 3 stars, this core can still be activated by acquiring another 2-star unit of the same kind.

With such an unusual activation condition, the Double Trouble core promises to bring a distinctly different team-building strategy, allowing for a carry to fulfill two different roles, for example. Additionally, this core will make reroll compositions extremely powerful, even during the reroll phase when champions have not yet been upgraded to 3 stars but still possess significant strength.
