In the “Super Classic” of the LCK Spring 2022 and League of Legends in general, T1 triumphed over the reigning LCK champions – DWG KIA. Notably, while T1 faced some challenges in the first round and relied on the genius moments from their players and mistakes from the opponents, in the second round, Faker and his teammates seemed to have an easier time. Even ShowMaker, one of DK’s last hopes this season, was virtually invisible throughout the match. In game 2, he only had a few bright moments, but it was too late for any impact.

However, this could be considered a rather one-sided “Super Classic”. In both games, DK did not show the strength of a team that had previously dominated their opponents in past seasons. They almost became the joke that fans often make, “Canyon Esports,” with only their jungler showing any significant effort. ADC Deokdam had a few standout moments, but they were far too few. Burdol was even less noticeable than ShowMaker.
And when the match did not hold much significance in terms of gameplay, the side stories began to “take over”. Specifically, as anyone who followed the match would have seen, there was a lengthy delay in game 2 after Faker accidentally used Flash at the start of the game. According to later information, Faker’s headset had an issue, and his use of Flash was a technical error. Although the game was delayed for a long time, no one expected this situation would become the basis for a new controversy after the match ended.
Specifically, according to spectators in the arena and a pro view clip released, Faker noticed a problem with his headset as game 2 began. However, he did not receive support from the referee. Only after Faker attempted to pause the game and accidentally hit Flash did the referee intervene.
However, DK’s coach Daeny continuously argued with the referees and insisted that the match should continue even though Faker’s headset issue had not been resolved. Notably, according to some allegations, the referee, whether intentionally or accidentally, revealed that Faker had lost Flash to the DK side (when Faker was still hidden in the bush, it was certainly impossible for the DK players to count his Flash).

Regardless of the referee initially ignoring Faker’s request, Coach Daeny’s actions were not truly fair-play. These incidents have left the T1 fan community, and Faker in particular, very dissatisfied with Coach Daeny’s actions.

Nevertheless, when the issue was resolved, Faker and his teammates showed that they deserved their victory. As for the incident involving Coach Daeny and the LCK referees not providing timely support to the player, fans can only wait for decisions from the LCK organizers in the near future.
