Renata – Brawler
Once emerging as a force at the beginning of season 6.5, the Renata – Brawler composition was subsequently nerfed directly and nearly vanished from the meta over the past two weeks. However, with the release of patch 12.5b for Teamfight Tactics, there is a high likelihood that this composition will make a powerful return as its “natural enemies” have been significantly weakened. Additionally, Rek’Sai receiving a considerable buff to its healing ability allows this composition to hold strong in the mid-game phase.

Essentially, Renata – Brawler is a gold-holding composition that levels up to 8 and continuously rerolls to upgrade key 4-cost units to 2 stars. Therefore, this composition is highly wary of team comps that can reroll 2-3 cost champions early and prevent it from reaching its power threshold at level 8. Clearly, when a series of units that can reroll as carry like Twitch, Talon, Ashe… have been heavily nerfed, the gold-holding playstyle of the Renata – Brawler team will have a chance to shine.
Innovator
No wonder it is called the “King of All Compositions”, the Innovator team comp still ranks up very effectively despite being directly nerfed in patch 12.5b. As mentioned above, the reroll playstyle will be heavily nerfed in patch 12.5b when a series of cheap carries receive a significant power reduction. This is the perfect condition for the Innovator composition to thrive in the meta as you can maintain much better health even when your 1-2 cost units are only at 2 stars.

Moreover, the “spending at level 8” meta is also very suitable for the Innovator team as you can choose from many 4-cost carries like Jhin, Irelia, Kha’Zix to stack items. With the attack damage buff effect from the Tech Bear and good protection from Seraphine, Zilean…, physical carries will be able to deal damage freely in the Innovator team. In fact, if there are many magic items, you can play in the traditional style relying on Seraphine with a similar playstyle.
Ahri – Syndicate
Although nerfed in damage output, Ahri is actually the strongest indirectly buffed champion in the upcoming patch 12.5b. The operation of this champion is to survive in combat as long as possible to continuously cast spells and create a snowball effect. However, with the reroll meta at the beginning of patch 12.5, Ahri finds it very difficult to survive long enough to cast 2-3 spells. Therefore, as a series of reroll compositions take heavy nerfs, Ahri is the champion that benefits the most.

Furthermore, to successfully build the Ahri – Syndicate team, you also need to upgrade this unit along with Braum to 2 stars. In some special cases, players even use 2 Ahri and 2 Braum at 2 stars when they have the Perfect Pair core, for example. These are all expensive 4-cost champions, so the Ahri – Syndicate team will fit better with a gold-holding meta and only “spend money” at level 8 as in the upcoming patch 12.5b.
