On the night of March 9th (Vietnam time), the League of Legends community was abuzz with the incident involving Faker encountering game sabotage while ranking. Unable to contain his frustration over his teammates’ negative attitudes and actions during the game, Faker expressed his outrage on his stream: “Why do LPL players have Korean rank accounts? There have been many cases where they negatively affect others. This has been happening since 2015.”
At the same time, Faker also mentioned that he has never encountered a Korean player trolling in rank, and whenever there is someone trolling, it is always from the LPL. Faker firmly stated during the stream on March 9th that if he encounters such a case again, he will end his ranking session immediately.
However, Faker’s frustrations have faced a multitude of mixed opinions. Specifically, a segment of the LPL community was very upset by Faker’s somewhat subjective remarks. Some even compiled and shared evidence that T1 players have also engaged in game sabotage.

But T1 and Faker’s fans also spoke out against this. These fans pointed out that the incident involving Gumayusi’s game sabotage had been dealt with a long time ago. Moreover, other players like Chovy and ShowMaker have also encountered game sabotage and have endured a lot of frustration. Faker reacted due to the attitude of the game saboteur. Additionally, Faker did not intend to attack all players from the LPL who moved to play on the Korean server.

On the same day, T1 also stated that they have acknowledged Faker’s incident and reported it to Riot Korea as well as the LCK organizers. Additionally, since it involves LPL players, Riot China cannot stay out of this. Currently, the League of Legends community is closely watching the incident and waiting for the resolution from the involved parties as this incident concerns two of the top League of Legends regions in the world as well as the “icon” of the League of Legends scene – Faker.
Furthermore, in a recent development, Top Esports and the player believed to be involved in the incident – Qingtian – have also spoken out about the matter. TES stated that they have educated their player, and Qingtian has apologized to his teammates who were affected by his game sabotage.
