Teamfight Tactics Set 6.5 has been around for a while, receiving mixed feedback from the online community. In addition to the new traits, champions, and new Augments added, TFT Set 6.5 has also exposed several bugs that can change the course of battles. Recently, the TFT community discovered a new bug related to the VIP mechanism of the Elegant trait.

Elegant in TFT 6.5 has a VIP mechanism quite similar to the Elite trait in Set 4 and 4.5

The VIP mechanism of the Elegant trait in Set 6.5 resembles the Elite mechanism from Sets 4 and 4.5. Specifically, when an Elegant champion has the VIP effect, that champion will be stronger than other champions of the same type without the effect. Additionally, players can only acquire another VIP champion after selling the current VIP champion. This means that there will never be two champions with VIP effects on the board or in the bench at the same time.

According to the player who discovered the bug, when using Draven, a regular 1-star, and two Dravens appear in the shop, one regular and one VIP, this bug occurs. If the player clicks on the regular Draven before the VIP Draven in the shop, the Draven on the board will still upgrade to 2 stars but without the VIP effect. Conversely, clicking on the VIP Draven first will cause the champion on the board to upgrade to 2 stars with the VIP effect.

In reality, this bug isn’t too serious but players can easily fall into this trap. When rolling for champions, sometimes the right champion only appears in the last seconds before the new round starts. If that’s a crucial moment, players will certainly be a bit hasty and could easily make a mistake. The power difference between regular and VIP champions is sometimes enough to turn the tide of a match.

In light of this new bug, the TFT community has expressed their frustrations. Some have even commented that gaming has become less about entertainment and more about learning everything, from positioning to strategy, and now… hidden mechanics.

Currently, TFT Set 6.5 is nearing the halfway mark, and some information about Set 7 has been teased. It’s still uncertain whether the VIP mechanism bug only occurs with Draven or all Elegant champions. However, the TFT community surely hopes that Riot will not repeat such basic mistakes from season to season when Set 7 officially rolls out soon.
