In recent weeks, the AP build Kai’Sa mid playstyle has become an intriguing phenomenon, not just in ranked play but also in professional League of Legends matches. It started with Aiming’s “diving into the enemy formation like a god” during the “media war” match between KT Rolster and T1, and this pick was later used frequently by Faker in ranked games. The peak was when the legend of T1 brought AP Kai’Sa mid into the match against Kwangdong Freecs to “torture” “secretary” Teddy.

However, in the recent Game 1 against Liiv SANDBOX, this pick didn’t have the same impact as in the match against KDF. Faker still performed effectively with Kai’Sa, but since his teammates were also at a disadvantage compared to LSB, the audience didn’t get to see many “dives into the enemy formation” from the “Demon King”.

After the match, Faker was asked about his choice of Kai’Sa mid. Surprisingly, the “Demon King” admitted that this pick was entirely just for fun: “I picked this champion because I find it extremely fun. Every time I play, I feel really happy and I see many other players starting to experiment with this champion in the mid lane. They probably feel the same way, which is why they follow suit.”

Additionally, during the interview, “Faker’s nephew” AD Carry Gumayusi also participated. When asked about the team’s current position and their chances at the upcoming MSI 2022, Gumayusi was extremely confident: “In the LCK, it’s a different story, but MSI gathers the championship teams from various regions. T1 is currently the top team in the LCK, and I think that LCK is the strongest region in the world, so I believe T1 is the strongest team in the world.” However, Gumayusi also noted that the team needs to keep performing well, not just in Spring 2022 but also at MSI, Summer, and Worlds 2022.

As of now, Faker and his teammates are having a flawless season and are the top contenders for the LCK Spring 2022 championship. However, as Gumayusi mentioned, they still need to remain focused as several teams continue to pose challenges to T1. But undoubtedly, Faker and his teammates will strive their best, especially in a season where they stand a chance to achieve historic records as they currently do.
