On the evening of March 31, the playoffs match between Weibo Gaming and JD Gaming took place. The match lived up to the audience’s expectations as both sides had their “back-and-forth” moments, dragging the game to a fifth match. However, due to some questionable picks, an unexpected drop in performance, and JDG performing better, WBG had to accept defeat. Thus, once again, SofM and his teammates missed out on the title at the domestic tournament.

Being the spotlight match, featuring “gods” like TheShy, SofM…, naturally, the match attracted significant attention from the League of Legends community. The majority of opinions assert that SofM was the best player in the BO5 against JDG. Throughout the match, the “Vietnamese Jungle God” performed exceptionally well, from skills to attitude. Notably, SofM’s efforts in game 5 posed significant challenges for JDG. However, the result was still “beyond his control”.

Notably, in this match, TheShy, ON, and Huanfeng were the three players who received the most criticism. Many viewers questioned TheShy’s pick of Aatrox in the deciding game. This champion proved to be “ineffective” throughout the match against 369’s highly mobile Kennen and Kanavi’s frequent visits to the top lane. Meanwhile, despite playing his “favorite” champion Rakan, ON did not perform well. As for Huanfeng, he had a poor showing, if not to say terrible.

Nevertheless, WBG concluded their journey, which was not unexpected by many experts before the official start of LPL Spring 2022. As a newly formed team with changes in player positions and coaching staff, WBG performed quite well in the group stage. A final position of 5-6 is not too low, and this journey in Spring 2022 will serve as a valuable lesson for the players as they look forward to a better Summer 2022.
