Recently, a statement by Bjergsen about Zeri has stirred the League of Legends community. Specifically, Bjergsen said on stream: “Her passive and using Q makes Zeri way more mobile than other Marksmen. Zeri is more broken than any champion before. Like my friend Doublelift, he has no skills but still creates highlights with Zeri, so that shows how powerful this champion is.”

Aside from the “jabs” at his old friend Doublelift, we can see that Bjergsen thinks Zeri is too mobile, making her extremely broken. If so, Zeri will become even more dominant beyond imagination when her mobility skill, E – Spark Surge, can reset cooldowns as fast as in URF mode. Recently, players have discovered a way to achieve this by using just one item, the Navori Quickblade.
As shown in the video above, after Zeri uses her E to dash, she only needs to activate Q two times to reset E’s cooldown. The reason for this absurd dominance lies in the interaction between percentage cooldown reduction and fixed stats. Simply put, the percentage cooldown reduction is calculated first before the fixed stats. In this case, the effect of Navori Quickblade is counted first, followed by the effect of the E skill.

The outcome, as we see above, is that with 70 ability haste (around 41% cooldown reduction), just 2 critical Q activations after using E will reset this ability. This allows Zeri to continuously dash and fire Q through numerous targets in team fights. With that kind of mobility alone, it’s more than enough for Zeri to kite opponents and dominate fights with her massive damage.

It’s unclear whether Riot Games intends to adjust this mechanic, as it is theoretically an extremely unbalanced interaction. Perhaps it will only be addressed when professional players start utilizing the Zeri – Navori Quickblade combo.
