League of Legends has entered its 12th season with countless updates and adjustments, from champions and items to fixed details like Rift Herald, Dragons, summoner spells… Each time there are adjustments, the League of Legends community takes some time to adapt to the changes. Not every update is well-received, but the community eventually has to get used to these changes to keep playing the game.

As we know, Riot has been trying to increase the damage of champions in League of Legends as well as from items and all factors that can affect damage in the game. The goal is to make matches happen at a faster pace, suitable for the long series of BO3 and BO5 that players must compete in professional tournaments, both domestically and internationally. This has resulted in many matches occurring at a quite fast pace. If a team starts to build a lead while the opponent cannot “turn the game around,” many games can end before the 25-minute mark, even within just 20 minutes.
Perhaps feeling that the speed of matches is exceeding control, especially in matches where there is too much skill disparity between teams. Recently, Riot announced that they may soon consider adjusting the damage in League of Legends, even in the near future.

According to Riot staff’s explanation, these matches are too fast and unbalanced. Just one perfect combo, one Assassin or Mage can instantly kill a glass-cannon AD. This has been demonstrated many times in professional matches and has been complained about by many experts, commentators, and players.
However, regarding the community, not many opinions trust Riot’s “200 years of experience” as these adjustments contradict many of their previous statements, claiming that League of Legends is becoming boring when teams keep dragging matches on. But, since Riot hasn’t really taken action, the League of Legends community may have to wait a while before these adjustments can be released on the PBE server and then applied to the official version.
