After Wukong, T1 Keria Confirms He Will Continue to “Carry” with Support Graves at MSI 2022

It seems that the Play-In stage of MSI 2022 will be the time for T1's bot lane duo to "test the waters."

After the second day of competition at MSI 2022, the top teams continue to maintain their necessary winning streak. All three top teams, T1, G2, and RNG, finished the second day of competition with an undefeated record. Notably, T1’s bot lane showed signs of “testing the waters” when this team brought out a very rare pick, Wukong Support for Keria.

Not only fulfilling his role, Keria also demonstrated an exceptional ability to “carry the team” by constantly creating advantageous skirmishes for T1 in the bot lane. Even by the mid-game, Wukong with the Divine Sunderer was such a massive force that AZE could not stop him. Of course, this also stemmed from the fact that the other lanes of T1 had performed exceptionally well in crushing the opposition and denying them resources.

In fact, during an interview with Korizon, Keria asserted that he could 1v5 at that moment. In this interview, Keria also hinted at using Graves Support in upcoming matches, as he had been playing this style in solo queue. This might be a strategy from T1’s coaching staff as Gumayusi has yet to find his best form.

Question: Recently, I noticed you’ve been playing Graves Support in solo queue. Will T1 use this champion at MSI 2022?

T1 Keria: Perhaps so. If you see Gumayusi locking in Senna, I will then choose a new champion in that Support position.

Essentially, the playstyle of Senna combined with another champion in the bot lane is not unfamiliar to professional players. This playstyle leverages the fact that you don’t need to farm while still accumulating enough gold to build items, and your power continuously increases by collecting Senna’s souls. As a result, the champion accompanying Senna becomes as strong as a solo laner and enhances the overall strength of the team compared to their opponents.

As we have seen above, Keria’s Wukong was able to dominate the AZE team by acquiring the Divine Sunderer at just the 11-minute mark of the match. The same could happen with Graves, as this champion also has a strong dueling ability early in the game. Perhaps with a high-skilled player who enjoys playing “off-meta” champions like Keria, he will indeed choose Graves at MSI 2022, even in the match against DFM later today, May 12.
