On the evening of June 22 (Vietnam time), Riot revealed the skills of new champion Nilah. For those who don’t know, Nilah is the upcoming champion for Summoner’s Rift. In the champion reveal trailer, Riot showcased her design and a brief overview of her skills for gamers.

First, we have Nilah’s passive, Endless Joy, which is arguably the most “overpowered” aspect of this champion. When an ally heals and shields Nilah, they also receive a portion of healing and shielding. Moreover, when allies heal and shield near Nilah, this champion will also receive similar buffs.
Notably, Nilah’s Endless Joy passive also allows her and allies to gain a 50% bonus experience compared to the normal experience points. Essentially, Nilah will be able to level up faster than opponents who farm the same amount of minions and have the same number of kills.

In addition, Nilah also possesses a quite powerful skill set. Her Q – Shadow Blade can deal multi-target damage along the sweep of her blade. When hitting an opponent, this skill increases attack speed, attack range, and enhances basic attacks, allowing Nilah to deal cone-shaped damage and additional damage.
The passive effect of this skill ignores the enemy’s armor and healing while healing Nilah based on the percentage of damage dealt. This ratio is also proportional to the critical hit ratio, and excess healing will convert into a shield.

Her W – Joyful Barrier makes Nilah immune to enemy abilities (including crowd control, movement speed boosts, and magic resistance). Allies can also benefit from Nilah’s W, but its effect duration is shorter.

Meanwhile, her E – Return to Source gives Nilah incredible mobility. Nilah dashes through a target, dealing damage and can store up to 2 charges of this ability at once. Additionally, if she uses Q and E simultaneously, E will create a wave that sweeps through enemies, dealing damage and allowing Nilah to gain the effects from Q.

Her R – Devotion creates a vortex of water, pulling enemies within the area of effect towards the center of the vortex and dealing damage. Devotion allows Nilah to heal based on the percentage of damage dealt, converting excess healing into a shield, and allies also receive these buffs.

On the same day, Riot also unveiled a new series of Star Guardian skins. However, Ekko’s skin has sparked significant controversy across social media platforms.

– Why does Ekko’s skin look like this? The hair, the outfit… in my opinion, it doesn’t look good at all.
– The hair and face. It doesn’t really look like Ekko.
– I own every skin of Ekko but I won’t buy this one, even the prestige edition. Fiddlestick’s skin is really cool.
– Ekko’s Star Guardian skin will be one of the worst skins and it’s right in the group of the most popular skins from Riot.
The skins and skills of the new champion Nilah have appeared on the PBE test server and will likely be featured in LoL in the 12.13 update.
