On the competition day yesterday – July 3rd, DK achieved a fairly easy victory against NS with a dominant score of 2-0. This win wrapped up a successful week for DK as the team secured two consecutive victories, continuing to chase T1 and Gen.G on the leaderboard. Moreover, this was also a much-needed morale boost for DK after they endured an unsatisfactory second week with two consecutive losses.

Despite achieving such convincing victories, ShowMaker personally felt unsatisfied. Specifically, in the post-match interview, DK’s star player shared that the recent win was not executed in the smoothest manner. ShowMaker even subtly pointed out that his teammates were still playing too passively, failing to aggressively attack opponents when they had the advantage.

Question: What do you think when you see your opponent letting Zeri through, a very strong champion at the moment?
DK Deokdam: Right at the moment Zeri was picked, I felt that I could win the game easily.
DK ShowMaker: I mentioned before that I want the whole team to play in the style of the LPL teams, right? Our lineup today still plays quite slowly and needs to improve in terms of snowball speed and finishing the game. Therefore, I am still not very satisfied even though the team has secured the necessary victory.
Basically, for a team with high ambitions like DK, they will certainly not be satisfied with single victories throughout the season. With the recruitment of a player who has proven his level like Nuguri, DK aims for the LCK Summer 2022 title and, further down the line, the World Championship. However, recently they have lost to two direct competitors, T1 and Gen.G, making it very difficult for DK to claim a title.

ShowMaker understands this, and after witnessing RNG defeat T1 at MSI 2022, this player realizes that the best way to earn titles is to learn from the LPL representatives. We have seen signs of this, as DK has been more proactive in initiating fights and imposing their game on opponents. However, in the recent match against NS, DK still maintained the habit of waiting until objectives appeared before doing so. Perhaps this is the very point that leaves ShowMaker unsatisfied and in need of improvement in the future.
