Dragonsoul – Mage
There are two key points that make the Dragonsoul – Mage composition currently dominate Teamfight Tactics. First, the Dragonsoul trait receives a significant boost in skill damage when hitting 3 and 6 champions, providing players with excellent damage output. Moreover, a series of core champions in this composition, such as Nami and Lillia (early game), have been buffed, making it no longer too weak and able to sustain health very well.

Another annoying factor of the Dragonsoul – Mage composition is that you will use both Varus and Twitch as your main carries. They will help you own a comprehensive composition with the ability to deal both physical and magical damage effectively, making it difficult for opponents to assemble counter items. Coupled with the fact that the hard counter SyFen has been nerfed, the Dragonsoul – Mage composition has become even stronger.
Mage
As mentioned above, the buffed Mage champions in patch 12.13 have made this system no longer too weak in the early game. Of course, with the popularity of the Dragonsoul trait, it will be very challenging to have these champions in every match. Therefore, experts have turned to a different Mage playstyle by using Sylas and Ornn as the main tanks, combined with Ryze and Nami in the backline to secure victories.

A small note for players using this composition is that you should not overlook champions from the Dragon Trainer trait. Both Heimerdinger and Lulu are highly versatile champions that help Mages survive very well against opponents’ melee carries. In addition, having a Nomsy with high health and decent damage output also helps players secure victories more easily.
Olaf – Assassin
Although in the recent patch 12.13, Assassins were slightly nerfed, this system has become exceedingly strong in Teamfight Tactics currently. With a series of compositions being countered by Assassins (Mages, Marksmen, Cannoneers)… this system is more favored than ever. Additionally, with the Warrior trait of Olaf receiving a damage boost, this champion has also become extremely powerful in “cleaning up” the backline.

According to expert advice, there are two conditions for effectively operating the Olaf – Assassin composition. First, you must have at least 1 Spatula to create the Assassin Emblem for Olaf; if you obtain it from a tech core or Emblem Book, that’s even better. The second condition to note is that you need to roll for Olaf at 3 stars at level 7 to have a chance at competing for top positions. Therefore, being too hasty and rolling too early (right from level 6) is something to avoid when playing this composition.
