Aurelion Sol is perhaps one of the champions with the most impressive lore in League of Legends. According to Riot’s introduction, Aurelion Sol is an immensely powerful entity in the form of a cosmic dragon. This character is so strong that he can literally “crush” a star with his bare hands.

Despite possessing such tremendous power in the lore, Aurelion Sol’s actual gameplay does not reflect this. Therefore, the topic of reworking Aurelion Sol has been extremely hot in the community over the past few years, with discussions on how Riot will rework this dragon. In the latest video from Riot Games, the first details of Aurelion Sol’s rework have been revealed.
Specifically, the person in charge of this rework will be Riot King Cobra, a member of the champion development team. According to Riot’s share, one idea they are implementing with Aurelion Sol is that the character’s abilities will increase in size as the match progresses. The goal is to help players feel the “power” of Aurelion Sol as they enter the late game.

If you’re a Teamfight Tactics player, you might find Riot’s aforementioned shares very familiar. The reason is that in “auto chess,” Aurelion Sol also possesses a similar effect in his ability. Specifically, when the round progresses to the late game in Teamfight Tactics, the black holes created by Aurelion Sol become larger and deal more damage.

It is highly likely that the League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics development teams have communicated with each other, leading to the aforementioned idea for Aurelion Sol. To be fair, Aurelion Sol’s ability to create black holes and deal massive damage in Teamfight Tactics seems to align more closely with this character’s lore than in League of Legends itself.

Perhaps the issue with Aurelion Sol has never been his power because in reality, this champion can still deal a lot of damage with his current abilities. However, in terms of perception, the effects of Aurelion Sol’s abilities do not truly satisfy players as his lore suggests. If this can be resolved, Aurelion Sol will certainly become much more favored in the future.
