Over the past weekend, the tournament UEC Samsung Autumn 2022 was held successfully. This is an annual Esports tournament for students, attracting teams from universities across the country. At UEC Samsung Autumn 2022, three games were chosen to compete: VALORANT, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and PUBG Mobile.

Notably, although it’s a tournament for amateur student teams, UEC Samsung Autumn 2022 was organized on a large and professional scale. Besides the teams, players, and audience, we cannot forget Minh Nghi – the most famous female host in the Vietnamese Esports scene. She single-handedly hosted all three games and contributed significantly to the success of UEC Samsung Autumn 2022.

Hello MC Minh Nghi, can you share your feelings about participating in UEC Samsung Autumn 2022 in this new role?

MC Minh Nghi: I am very happy today because this is a tournament organized by VNG’s Game Studio 3. Normally, I am part of the production team, meaning I am a member of the organizing committee. But today, I am a talent, the host for all three games: VALORANT, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and PUBG Mobile. I find it very interesting, especially since this is my first time hosting PUBG Mobile and VALORANT.

What do you think about the atmosphere of the UEC Samsung Autumn 2022 event, as well as the cheers from the audience?

MC Minh Nghi: Today is really great because it’s been a while since I had the opportunity to work on a large stage with such a large audience.

Having to lead all three competitions continuously, and with some of them being your first time hosting, did you feel any pressure?

MC Minh Nghi: At first, I felt a bit anxious because the VALORANT competition started quite early. But when I stepped on stage, the audience was already there in large numbers and cheered enthusiastically. That really surprised and pleased me, especially from the VALORANT audience.

Can you share your thoughts on the Esports movement among students, especially through this event?

MC Minh Nghi: I think promoting Esports and guiding students who intend to pursue a professional path is always a concern for those in Esports. Students are a very important community in determining whether an Esports title can succeed or not.

For example, I myself was a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a school where very few people played games in the past, so I didn’t have many opportunities for activities or friends with similar interests. But now, the school is starting to have very strong Esports movements like extracurricular activities and annual gatherings. I am very happy about that. To achieve that, besides the school, there also needs to be support from publishers, with professional and large-scale events, creating the best environment for students to access Esports.

Lastly, can you share how MC Minh Nghi ended up hosting all three Esports games?

Currently, it is the off-season, so I am quite free. And I also offered to help my colleagues at this UEC event. So they sent me the scripts for all three games.

To be honest, my goal is to become a comprehensive Esports host, not limited to a specific game. So I think that is the reason I accepted bigger challenges and tried my hand at games I had never worked with before. I learned a lot, so I am very excited to work on all three games at UEC Samsung Autumn 2022.

Thank you MC Minh Nghi for this fascinating conversation, and I wish you continued success on your chosen career path.
