After many years of developing League of Legends, Riot Games has released numerous champions with unique playstyles. Among them, Yuumi is a rare case where both gamers and experts have voiced criticism due to its imbalance.

In fact, Yuumi is a champion frequently demanded for removal by players due to its somewhat “nonsensical” playstyle. The mere fact that Yuumi can attach to teammates, receives no negative effects, and still deals massive damage has made gamers quite frustrated.
Recently, the discussion about removing Yuumi has resurfaced as BeryL mentioned this champion ahead of the 2022 World Championship finals. The Support player from DRX believes that League of Legends tournaments would be more exciting with a wider variety of champion choices if Yuumi were removed.

“Yuumi is a strong champion with an incredibly annoying playstyle. I think Riot Games should consider completely removing this champion from League of Legends. This would make tournaments more exciting with many new champion picks to consider,” BeryL shared.
At the 2022 World Championship, Yuumi had a 95% ban rate, the highest for support champions. In fact, in the 8 matches where she was picked, Yuumi helped her team achieve a 100% win rate. This shows that Yuumi is an overly strong champion, even after being nerfed multiple times.

Of course, Riot Games will not remove a champion from League of Legends as they have never done so. However, Riot should consider reworking or adjusting Yuumi’s power to ensure this little cat has a healthier and more balanced playstyle.
