When it comes to League of Legends (LoL) in North America, the two names that leave the most impression on fans are Doublelift and Bjergsen. Both players possess extraordinary skills, having won numerous LCS titles, yet they have never achieved success in international tournaments.

At their peak performance in 2016, Bjergsen and Doublelift were seen as the greatest hopes of the LCS region. However, Bjergsen’s Team SoloMid and Doublelift were unable to advance past the Group Stage of the 2016 World Championship due to being in a group with formidable teams like Samsung Galaxy and RNG.
Shortly thereafter, Doublelift left Team SoloMid, leaving North American LoL fans with a sense of loss. In fact, at the beginning of 2021, Doublelift announced his retirement after more than 10 years of playing professional League of Legends.

However, according to journalist Travis Gafford (who is very close to Doublelift), this legendary AD carry will return to professional play in the 2023 season. Doublelift’s teammates will be Bjergsen and Spica, former members of Team SoloMid. The team that will feature these players is 100 Thieves.

This is extremely exciting news for North American LoL fans as these once-great “idols” are back in action. However, there are also doubts about whether Doublelift and Bjergsen’s skills are still at the peak level they once were. Hopefully, Doublelift and Bjergsen will create something special with this reunion.
