In League of Legends (LoL), ranked tiers significantly impact ensuring fairness in the game. Theoretically, the rank reflects the player’s skill level. Therefore, matching players of the same rank in a game ensures they face opponents of similar skill.

However, on League of Legends forums recently, there have been many cases of Silver and Bronze players having to face Masters. Specifically, players with low ranks can easily find themselves up against Diamond I players and within the climb to Masters. The skill gap is too large, leading to unfair matches that frustrate players.
So, what is the cause of this issue? The answer lies in a significant loophole in the League of Legends system regarding unranked accounts. Essentially, when a Diamond I player teams up with an unranked account, they can end up facing opponents at the Silver or Bronze level. Without this loophole, Diamond I players in the climb to Masters would have to compete against opponents of Platinum rank or higher.

Many players have taken advantage of this loophole in League of Legends to easily achieve the Masters rank. At the same time, they ruin the game experience for other players in the match. Being overwhelmed by opponents of a significantly higher skill level is not a pleasant experience for many players.

Notably, exploiting this loophole to climb the ranks is becoming increasingly common in League of Legends. Hopefully, Riot Games will soon resolve this issue to make the ranking system fairer.
