As one of the first Vietnamese players to compete internationally, SofM landed in the LPL – a region that was only for the top players in the world at that time. Not to mention, due to language barriers and being very young, SofM faced countless difficulties. However, he remains the only Vietnamese player to have stood firm until now, becoming a legend in the LPL region. On the 10th anniversary of the LPL, SofM was also named in the Top 10 greatest players voting list.

SofM’s achievements are perhaps (alongside the legend Mlxg) what opened the “Jungle Predator” era in the LPL. His aggressive jungle playstyle, participating in kills and influencing the game by ganking all over the map. Later on, SofM transitioned to a control jungler with records for vision scores. Moreover, many talented players admit to learning from or being influenced by SofM’s playstyle, even considering the jungler from Vietnam as a “teacher”. Examples include Canyon, Kanavi, Leyan, Karsa, and Tian.

Recently, it was discovered that SofM is one of the 5 players with the most MVP awards in his position since 2017. The others on this list include TheShy (Top Lane), Scout (Mid Lane), Lwx (AD Carry), and Ming (Support). Among them, except for SofM who is currently taking a break and Lwx who is struggling with FunPlus Phoenix, the other three names are still competing for top teams in the LPL and the League of Legends scene in general.
Specifically:
– TheShy: 74 times
– SofM: 73 times
– Scout: 152 times
– Lwx: 76 times
– Ming: 38 times

In fact, after returning from the 2020 World Championship, SofM has somewhat lost his peak performance. However, he always knows how to coordinate well with teammates, whether it’s Bin, TheShy, or Angel. But it cannot be denied that due to his significant influence, when SofM was neutralized, Suning (later Weibo Gaming) faced many difficulties.
Currently, SofM is in a resting phase. It will be very difficult to predict the future direction of the former WBG star. However, with all that SofM has contributed, Vietnamese League of Legends fans have every right to be proud that a player from their country has made an indelible mark in one of the strongest League of Legends regions in the world.
