The introduction of the Mythic item system was a major overhaul for League of Legends since the Pre-Season 2021. However, after several years of implementation, some issues have arisen, prompting Riot Games to revise this system. The most noticeable problem is that some champions do not align well with the Mythic items.
This situation is quite common in the Marksman position. Specifically, champions that rely on on-hit effects (Kog’Maw, Varus…) do not fit well with the Mythic items that provide critical strike. In fact, the champion Ezreal doesn’t even rely on Mythic items yet remains a popular choice among League of Legends players.

As a result, League of Legends players have suggested that Riot Games needs to change the Mythic item system. Notably, Guinsoo’s Rageblade should be upgraded to serve on-hit effect champions. In a recent update regarding League of Legends item changes, Riot Games has indeed addressed this request.

Another item that will also be upgraded to Mythic status is Infinity Edge. It seems that Riot Games wants Infinity Edge to become a signature item for champions who rely on critical strike basic attacks, hence this decision. Additionally, Navori Quickblades will also become a Mythic item to serve Marksman champions dealing damage from both basic attacks and abilities.

Moreover, the Marksman group will also receive a new yet familiar item, Statikk Shiv. Items like Kraken Slayer and Guardian Angel are also being revamped to better fit the Mythic level. With these changes, the gameplay of the Marksman position is set to undergo significant transformations, strongly impacting League of Legends.
