On May 29, LPL Summer 2023 officially kicked off with a match between Ultra Prime (UP) and Anyone’s Legend (AL). UP was the favored team before the match began, bolstered by the notable addition of SwordArt. SofM’s former teammate is a highly experienced Support who promised to help UP perform better.

And as predicted before the match, UP won 2-1 against AL. This was an extremely hard-fought victory for UP as AL’s Bottom Lane duo had a great day. Even the new AD Carry named Zhiqiuyi managed to secure a Pentakill in game 3 and almost caused UP to regret it.
Not stopping there, SwordArt himself created a sad record right in the opening match of LPL Summer 2023. Specifically, Milio in SwordArt’s hands dealt only 451.52 damage to enemy champions throughout game 1. This is the second-lowest figure in the history of major tournaments, surpassing only the “legend” Vayne from player Kid with 443 damage.

Fairly speaking, the audience can also sympathize with SwordArt as he only used Milio in that match. Essentially, Milio’s damage output is quite limited. The greatest value this character brings is the ability to protect and empower the AD Carry. In this aspect, SofM’s former teammate performed quite well in helping AD Carry Doggo position comfortably in team fights.

In summary, even though he didn’t deal much damage, SwordArt achieved his goal of protecting the AD Carry with the champion Milio. Hopefully, in the upcoming matches, SwordArt will continue to play effectively, contribute more damage, and help UP secure more victories.
