Once Defeated by T1, a World Champion Reveals the Truth About Their Opponent

A World Champion Advises Future Opponents of T1

Entering the playoffs of the Road to MSI 2025, T1 has shown an incredible “transformation” in two matches against strong opponents KT and HLE. At that time, KT was in good form with a winning streak, while T1 had not tasted victory against HLE since 2024. However, both were defeated by T1 with a significant score, thus securing a spot at MSI 2025. Explaining this, one of the reasons was recently provided by the 2022 World Champion – Pyosik.

T1 is always an unpredictable team even when they are at a disadvantage in a game.
T1 is always an unpredictable team even when they are at a disadvantage in a game.

Accordingly, Pyosik assessed: “Honestly, when entering a fight with T1, you will always catch someone, anyone in any position. But that’s also when you should be careful. It’s hard to describe, but the important thing is that when facing T1, even if you catch one person in a fight and take them down, don’t celebrate too early.”

Pyosik’s assessment is entirely valid, as he has gone through many ups and downs in encounters with T1. This player was also a member of the DRX lineup that made history at the 2022 World Championship after defeating T1 ZOFGK to become champions. In that match, despite DRX having many advantages, they allowed T1 to regain momentum at least twice. Pyosik himself was also repeatedly robbed of objectives by Gumayusi.

T1 Will Always Be Unpredictable

Based on T1’s performance since the start of the season, it is hard to claim that this team will achieve anything at MSI 2025. However, T1 remains a difficult team to predict, to the extent that even their fans continuously harbor doubts, even when T1 enters arenas where they have a strong track record, such as MSI or the World Championship.

At MSI 2025, T1 is a team not to be underestimated.

Currently, T1 is also under scrutiny, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they could go far in Vancouver this year. It should be noted that T1’s worst performance so far in international tournaments has been a 3rd-4th place finish.
