In recent days, the VCS community, instead of enjoying thrilling matches, has been inundated with numerous troubles and stories that, when revealed, leave the audience bewildered. The main characters in these stories are members of SBTC Esports as well as the team itself, as they are currently under investigation by Riot and the VCS organizers. Notably, a controversial figure recently speaking out is in a leadership position at SE.

This person unexpectedly made heavy remarks towards the VCS community. In fact, the leader from SE even intended to hold a press conference to directly criticize the audience in the Vietnamese League of Legends (LoL) scene. This has left many people extremely upset. While it is true that the LoL community in VCS specifically and internationally in general has very extreme factions, the leader’s sweeping generalization is hard to accept. Moreover, many opinions suggest that the content direction of the SE media team, led by this individual, has contributed significantly to the promotion of extremism and toxicity.

And on the morning of July 14, another incident occurred. Accordingly, “Media No. 1” from CERBERUS Esports posted a message supporting the VCS community, stating that the aforementioned leader has a significant fault in media content direction but is now blaming the community. Even, “Media No. 1” attached an audio file of the leader’s remarks during a meeting between the two teams.

However, “Media No. 1” also faced mixed reactions from the community. Specifically, according to many opinions, recording someone else’s words without permission and publicly posting it on social media is a violation of the law. Although later, CES provided evidence that their actions were legal, it can be said that this team has violated basic communication rules, especially since the meeting was internal between the two teams. Furthermore, even CES fans have noted that this action reflects a certain lack of professionalism that will surely negatively impact CES, diminishing the goodwill of fans towards the clean media style that CES has long built.

The incident continues to attract audience attention. However, it can be said that the Vietnamese LoL fans have never witnessed so many scandals as they are currently facing. Notably, this occurs in the very first year that Riot officially took over VCS, further increasing the community’s frustration regarding the professionalism of the region.
