Recently, the FIFA Online 4 homepage officially announced that the game will be renamed to FC Online. This name change demonstrates EA’s long-term vision, allowing the company to implement more activities and content that are friendlier to the player community. The termination of the partnership with FIFA will not significantly affect FIFA Online 4, now to be called FC Online, as the game still holds a major advantage by owning the rights to over 19,000 players, 700 clubs, 100 stadiums, and 30 leagues through personal agreements between EA and licensing partners.

At the recent Showcase revealing information about FC Online, senior representatives from both EA and Garena attended to answer community questions about the brand name change. The publisher of FC Online in Vietnam, Garena, announced 4 extremely important pieces of information, promising to enhance the player experience in the future:
- Content related to the EA Sports FC Online brand change
- Changes and improvements in FC Online
- Future plans of the publisher
- FC Founders Club membership program

Explanation of the new EA Sports FC Online brand identity
The new brand identity of EA Sports FC Online is primarily inspired by the triangle, which, as Scott Yoo, EA’s Senior Commercial Director for Asia, shared, has been the foundation of EA Sports football for 30 years. From the pointers above players’ heads, tactics, to the game’s “chemistry”, the triangle is ever-present. Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur star Heung Min Son has been selected as the global ambassador for FC Online and will participate in various promotional activities for the game in the future.

A series of improvements are being prepared for the brand name change
In the Tactical Super Update at the beginning of August, players could easily notice a series of significant changes in FC Online.

The most notable feature, which has garnered a lot of interest from players, is the completely revised Team Tactics feature, now with 5 different Offensive styles and 4 Defensive styles, helping to realize modern playstyles currently used in real life.

Additionally, to allow players to take on multiple positions on the field and perform more effectively in each team’s tactics, some new roles have been added to the player’s individual tactics, such as Overlapping and Inverting for wing-back positions or Defending Wide and Focusing in Central for defensive midfielders.

There are also many other changes and improvements coming from the Transfer Market, Club House, etc.
Although the changes are making it difficult for some players to adapt to the new gameplay, this step still serves as a positive first signal and reassurance from the FC Online publishing team to its player community through efforts to bring the most realistic and modern football experiences from reality into the game.
Enhancing the local experience: Adding new Vietnamese players and changing Vietnamese commentators
In the publisher’s development direction sharing, the Product Operations Team Leader for FC Online Garena Vietnam, Tran Minh Khoi, announced 4 key activities that will be focused on investment in the coming years, including maintaining localized content, improving in-game experience, supporting content creators, and developing the tournament system.
The localized content mentioned during the Showcase revolves around continuing to introduce new Vietnamese players, meeting the demand of players who wish to use Vietnamese players alongside famous stars from around the world. Additionally, there was a hint about the introduction of a new Vietnamese commentator. The gaming community is buzzing with various predictions such as Ta Bien Cuong, Truong Anh Ngoc, Quang Tung, Anh Quan, etc., will voice FC Online in the upcoming release.
Regarding the tournament system, the publisher is promising a lot to the player community about investing in more new tournaments, targeting a wider audience such as students, working professionals, etc. And true to the promises made by the publisher, FC Online will be launching the Office War tournament for those who work but still manage to find time to compete.

You will become the first founder of EA Sports FC Online
In addition to the anticipated content after the name FC Online emerges in Vietnam, the publisher is also introducing a program called “FC Online Founders Club”, a meaningful initiative that shows the publisher’s appreciation for the first Founders.

By participating in the program, members will not only receive the earliest information from EA Sports FC but also get jerseys, badges, and valuable in-game rewards, but they will also enhance their football experiences by enjoying real-life matches and participating in special events with partner clubs organized by EA Sports and Garena Vietnam.
