When Teamfight Tactics Season 9 launched, Riot Games made a controversial decision within the community. Specifically, they restricted statistical websites from sharing metrics about Champions and later about Tech Cores. This was believed to be an effort to prevent players from abusing statistics and only using a few specific Champions.

However, reality has shown that whether or not sharing statistics is banned, the issue of players “spamming” one Champion still occurs. For example, at the beginning of Season 9, Champion Twisted Fate (followed by Ezreal) was continuously used due to its overwhelming power. More recently, players have continuously used Ornn when the special items from this Champion were too strong.

Therefore, in the upcoming mid-season 9 update, Riot Games will allow statistical sites to share metrics about Tech Cores again. It seems that Riot realized that banning the sharing of statistics did not impact how players choose Champions or Tech Cores. Meanwhile, this restriction made commentary and analysis of tournaments more difficult.
“In the upcoming Season 9.5, we will allow sharing metrics about Tech Cores to return. Teamfight Tactics is a fair competitive game, so we believe this decision is the right one. You will be able to see the return of metrics like win rates, average placements… of Tech Cores when Season 9.5 launches,” Riot Mortdog (Project Director of Teamfight Tactics) shared.

With the return of statistical metrics, players can better assess the power of Tech Cores. This also helps new players learn about this system more quickly. The changes from Riot Games promise to make Season 9.5 much more exciting.
