As we know, in the recently released version 13.16, several champions that had been absent for a while have been significantly buffed. One of them is Caitlyn – an extremely versatile champion in the Bottom Lane who has been missing since the end of the Spring 2023 tournament. Caitlyn is considered to have received the most significant buff in this patch 13.16.

Specifically, in version 13.15, Caitlyn needed to stack 4 basic attacks before she could trigger her passive Headshot, which increases her critical hit chance. In version 13.16, Caitlyn only needs to land 3 basic attacks (while hiding in a bush) to activate her passive. Notably, when Caitlyn is in a bush, each auto attack counts as 2 stacks for her passive. This means that, after activating her passive with 3 shots, she only needs 2 more basic attacks to activate it again. In short: when Caitlyn is in a bush, she will activate her passive twice after 5 basic attacks.

And at this moment, people have also realized another thing: 3 attacks is exactly the number of hits needed to activate the Keystone Rune Rain of Blades. Therefore, some players have experimented with the Rain of Blades build on Caitlyn and achieved positive results. More importantly, many people have suggested that Riot should… award the World Championship trophy (Worlds) to T1. This is because the Support Caitlyn build with the Rain of Blades rune has become one of the signature plays of Keria.

Now that Caitlyn has received her buffs back, it’s possible that in the near future, Keria will once again use this champion as a high-impact option. Of course, only Keria can fully unleash the power of Caitlyn Rain of Blades in the Support role. In fact, one opinion expressed: “I am eager to see Gumayusi’s Varus and Keria Caitlyn. That is the devastating combination in League of Legends”.

Naturally, T1’s opponents will find ways to counter this. More importantly, T1 needs to secure a spot in Worlds 2023 first. Therefore, everything is still in the future, but Caitlyn’s return can be seen as good news for both Keria and T1.
