One of the most “hated” champions in League of Legends (LoL) is Yuumi. She is primarily a Support champion and possesses strong crowd control and slow abilities. Additionally, Yuumi can initiate fights very well and perfectly protect the Marksman. However, if that was all, Yuumi wouldn’t be so disliked. The reason for the community’s disdain for LoL towards Yuumi stems from her “stick to teammates” mechanic.

Accordingly, the champion Yuumi can be considered incredibly “laid back” as she only needs to stick to her teammates. Occasionally, she will need to use Prowling Projectile to gain minion stats or poke enemy champions. Moreover, in team fights, she just needs to use her Final Chapter correctly and sometimes detach and reattach to heal her teammates. As a result, many players have exploited this and chosen Yuumi, only to go AFK. This has led to considerable frustration among teammates who have to “go it alone” when they see Yuumi selected.

However, recently, according to observations from some players, this may no longer be possible. One LoL player joyfully posted on Reddit with the content: “One person on my team chose Yuumi, bought Support items, and then stuck to a teammate. Suddenly, we were counted as having an AFK player and the match was remade. We didn’t quite understand, but it seems this was because the player did not perform any actions, not even using abilities or clicking. Thanks, Riot!”.

Immediately, this was shared by many other players accompanied by congratulations. According to some opinions, they have also encountered similar situations. LoL players believe that it may be because Riot has previously stated that they would strictly handle AFK cases involving Yuumi. And now is the time for them to take action.

Regardless of the reason, a player going AFK, even while using a low-activity champion like Yuumi, can be frustrating for teammates. Riot needs to take strong action in this case to at least ensure fairness in League of Legends matches, whether in normal or ranked games.
