Before the friendly match between the South Korean and Vietnamese LoL teams took place, many viewers assessed this encounter as unbalanced. The reason stems from the fact that the South Korean team boasts world-class stars with extensive experience. Therefore, it was anticipated that Vietnam’s LoL team would lose to their South Korean opponents.
Even so, the home team still demonstrated some positive points despite being convincingly defeated by the opponent. First of all, the Vietnamese players did not suffer a mental breakdown after the recent loss. They still showed optimism and sportsmanship by having extremely joyful interactions with the South Korean players after the match.
Moreover, viewers pointed out that the Vietnamese LoL team made commendable efforts when facing such a strong opponent. The Vietnamese boys performed well, maintaining a balanced game for about the first 10 minutes of game one. In fact, the Vietnamese team is rated higher than the renowned European team MAD Lions (MAD) as they did not suffer a “crushing” defeat like them.
Remember that at MSI 2023, MAD lost to T1 in the qualifiers in just 16 minutes and 47 seconds. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team showed greater resistance and only succumbed to South Korea after 17 minutes and 35 seconds. It should be noted that MAD’s loss was much more severe as it occurred in an official tournament like MSI, while the Vietnamese team only lost in a friendly match.
In conclusion, although they could not secure victory in the recent friendly match, the Vietnamese team still showcased positive aspects. Having the opportunity to play against a strong team like South Korea is an excellent training opportunity for the Vietnamese boys. Hopefully, they can draw valuable lessons from the recent match and perform successfully at the upcoming ASIAD.
