When the lineup for the Korean League of Legends team for the ASIAD was announced, the community erupted in intense debate. This is because two Mid Lane positions, Chovy and Faker, are present in this tournament. They are currently the two best Mid Laners in the LCK. Therefore, the question arises: Who will coach kkOma choose as the starting name for the upcoming ASIAD? Each player has their own strengths, influence, and coordination abilities. Moreover, the choice will certainly spark many differing opinions.

In reality, selecting the main player can easily be resolved since both players can take turns competing. However, the more important issue is the atmosphere and bonding among the players. Kanavi and Ruler are more familiar with Chovy, while Keria and Zeus are teammates and juniors of Faker at T1. However, Ruler was also once a teammate of Faker on the Korean national team during ASIAD 2018. Yet, even in such cases, based on current performances, many opinions lean towards Chovy securing the starting position.

While the LoL community continues to debate the two players, recently, Chovy openly shared about his relationship with Faker after the two friendly matches concluded. The Gen.G Mid Laner stated: “When I practice Mid Lane matchups, I am often unaware of how my opponent will play, so I usually set up the matchups myself. Now, Faker has been very helpful in practicing Mid Lane champions. That has truly been very beneficial.”

Faker himself admitted that he was only close to Chovy as a competitor in LoL tournaments. Now as teammates, their relationship has become closer. Faker also shared: “To achieve the highest success, we must take good care of each other and help one another. I will strive to do well in this part.”

It can be seen that contrary to the disputes of many fans, both Mid Laners of the Korean LoL team are quite close and support each other in practice. Faker, as the captain and spiritual leader, will certainly provide valuable assistance to Chovy in preparation for international tournaments, starting with the upcoming ASIAD.
