On November 6th (local time), the hit animated series Arcane officially celebrated its 2nd anniversary. With outstanding content and visuals, Arcane created a real “sensation” at the time of its release. In fact, in 2022, this series won numerous prestigious awards, including the title of “Best Adaptation” at The Game Awards.
Not stopping there, the first season of Arcane ended on an open note, so fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming seasons of this series. Riot Games has also confirmed that they are in the process of producing Arcane Season 2. As of now (November 2023), audiences still have no additional information about the content of this upcoming season.
However, the writer and one of the actors from Arcane recently surprised the audience. Specifically, actor Reed Shannon (the voice of Ekko) shared a video celebrating the 2nd anniversary of Arcane Season 1. Moreover, he revealed that “Time Bomb” will play a very important role in the upcoming Season 2. Shortly after, Arcane’s writer Amanda Overton also shared this video with a similar message.
These recent moves immediately led fans to believe that “Time Bomb” will be directly related to the content of Arcane Season 2. Many viewers thought immediately of the relationship between Ekko (a character who can rewind time) and Jinx (a rebellious character with heavy weaponry). There’s a possibility that Ekko and Jinx may develop a romantic relationship in Season 2 of Arcane.
However, there are also many opinions suggesting that the above theory is unreasonable. The reason comes from the fact that Ekko and Jinx had a fierce battle in Season 1, and their ideals are very different. “Pairing” these two characters in a romantic relationship could significantly affect the consistency of the series.
Of course, these opinions are merely theoretical about Arcane Season 2. Previously, the release date of this season was hinted to be in November 2024.
