Gen.G Fan Community Erupts in Outrage After Team’s Victory at EWC 2025
Recently, Gen.G secured victory at EWC 2025 after a tense BO5 match that went all five games against AG.AL. However, the win by Chovy and his teammates sparked a new wave of controversy surrounding the verified LCK page in Vietnam.
Accordingly, many Gen.G fans were extremely upset that the LCK’s page did not post any congratulatory message for Gen.G after their championship win. They compared it to last season, when this page continuously updated about EWC and had also posted congratulatory messages for T1’s first international title in 2024.

Even when the LCK fanpage explained the situation, Gen.G fans continued the debate and attacks. This even caused T1 to be “caught in the crossfire” despite not being present in the EWC 2025 finals for League of Legends. Some overly passionate Gen.G fans argued that last year T1 – a more popular team with more fans – received the post. Meanwhile, Gen.G, who continuously defeated T1, was being… “hated”.

However, this time Gen.G fans may have been unreasonably upset
Clearly, it is hard for anyone to accept that their favorite team is being sidelined. However, Gen.G fans may have been unreasonably upset when directing their attacks at the official LCK Vietnam page. Firstly, EWC 2025 is a tournament for which FPT and VIRESA announced exclusive broadcasting rights. Therefore, it is understandable that the verified LCK page in Vietnam did not post anything.
Furthermore, at EWC 2024, when this was a new tournament and copyright issues may not have been very strict, the LCK verified page likely needed to promote the event as much as possible, hence the posts back then. By 2025, with Riot and others paying more attention, it is understandable that copyright enforcement would be tighter.

Moreover, a congratulatory post for Gen.G has also appeared on the FPT Esports fanpage. Therefore, a portion of Gen.G fans “venting their anger” on LCK Vietnam seems to be an overly aggressive reaction.
