As we know, recently, all the players whose contracts with T1 expired have re-signed. Thus, T1 and its players have simultaneously marked two milestones in the team’s history. First, this officially becomes the only roster in the history of SKT T1/T1 since the 2013 – 2014 season to continue competing in the next LCK season after winning the World Championship. Furthermore, Zeus has become the longest-serving Top Laner for SKT T1/T1, surpassing legendary predecessors like MaRin, Duke, and Khan.

Interestingly, according to Wolf – the former Support and now a streamer for T1, he also did not expect that all the younger players would re-sign. Wolf explained (and many rumors have been mentioned by insiders) that the salary offer from T1 was much lower than the offers they received from big names in the LCK/LPL. In fact, Wolf only learned this information through his girlfriend. There were even rumors that Zeus had turned down a whopping 6.3 billion VND offer from LPL to stay with T1.

Korean netizens say Wolf was also surprised that all members re-signed with T1 and he only found out thanks to his girlfriend

However, only Gumayusi has actually shared the reason behind his decision to re-sign with T1. Accordingly, the “Prince” stated: “My next goal is to build a new dynasty at T1. The first time I re-signed was to prove something, but this time it’s a bit different as I just won the World Championship. So the goal will be to build a new dynasty at T1. First, to surpass Bang, who already has more World Championship titles than me. Then, to surpass Faker, to surpass his entire career, and I will work hard to achieve that.”

It is clear that Gumayusi remains a person of confidence and ambition. In fact, in his current position as a Marksman, Gumayusi can confidently assert that he is on par with anyone. As for his resolve and competitive spirit, Gumayusi has proven to be a reliable cornerstone, especially when Faker is absent or underperforming.

Of course, Faker’s career is the greatest in League of Legends. Not only Gumayusi but many before him have “failed” in trying to surpass the “Demon King.” But it is very likely that Gumayusi will not need to surpass anyone but instead carve out his own path to build a new dynasty for T1 as per his aspirations.
