As we know, recently, T1 had to participate in an event that could be called a fan meeting organized by RedBull, the sponsor of T1, in Germany. Given the nature of a showmatch, the results were not really all that important. Moreover, T1 players certainly took this opportunity to enjoy a relaxing trip after a tense season and to prepare mentally for what is expected to be a challenging 2024.

Of course, with the nature of a friendly match, the T1 players had no obligation to take things too seriously. Right from these matches, the T1 stars also “made the most” of the opportunity to create content enthusiastically. Notably, T1 collectively used their own team’s skins throughout the Worlds, and Gumayusi finally got the chance to play Cho’Gath in the Bottom Lane during a professional international League of Legends match.

However, what stood out was Zeus’s “VAR check” just before the match. Specifically, perhaps not knowing who his opponent was, he decided to look up information about them on… YouTube. In fact, this action is not permitted in professional League of Legends. When players sit down at their devices, they must check their equipment, ensuring that there are no errors or issues. After that, they must focus on the match. Even if the matches are delayed due to issues, players are not allowed to perform any actions on their devices.
But perhaps due to the friendly nature of the match, Zeus’s actions not only went unpunished but also delighted the audience. In reality, because of the showmatch nature, the matches are often not too significant, and the opponents may sometimes be unknown or have little data on specialized databases. Therefore, this was probably the quickest way Zeus could think of to find out who his opponent was.
