In the recent version 13.22 of League of Legends, Riot Games has replaced the Blind Pick mode with the Fast Queue mode. Essentially, Riot Games has removed the team selection phase in this mode by allowing players to pre-select their roles, champion priorities, and runes. The goal is to increase the actual experience time for players in League of Legends.

However, after its launch, the Fast Queue mode has shown several issues. Firstly, the matchmaking time is longer compared to the Blind Pick mode due to the low number of players selecting the Support role. Furthermore, the matchmaking system of Fast Queue often encounters problems by frequently placing 2 to 3 Jungle players in a single match.

As a result, the League of Legends community from Asia to Europe has voiced their opposition to the Fast Queue mode and hopes for the return of Blind Pick. Nevertheless, Riot has chosen to upgrade the Fast Queue mode in the future. This shows that Riot is very committed to developing the Fast Queue mode, and the chances of Blind Pick returning are almost non-existent.
“Hello everyone, we acknowledge the feedback and are working on upgrading the Fast Queue mode for the upcoming 2024 season. The upgrades we are aiming for focus on matchmaking balance as well as the interface of the Fast Queue mode. We hope you will continue to provide us with useful feedback in the future,” shared Riot Pupulasers.

With the above statements from Riot, players can look forward to a Fast Queue that is less prone to “game-breaking” elements and more balanced in the future. If successful in balancing roles and upgrading the matchmaking system, Fast Queue will become a very interesting game mode. Conversely, Riot will again have to face demands to bring back Blind Pick in the future.
