These days, the offseason transfer market for the League of Legends scene is gradually coming to a close, and most teams have finalized their rosters. Players have also determined their futures for the new season, with the two largest regions in League of Legends, LCK and LPL, experiencing significant changes. However, there are still two unfortunate absences in Spring 2024, namely the two players just returned from the Worlds 2023 – TheShy and Tarzan.

Notably, coincidentally, both of these players from the LPL have many things in common: they have decided to take a break in Spring 2024 after their respective teams ended their contracts right before the transfer window closed, leaving them unable to find new teams in time.

Both had their contracts with their respective teams ended shortly before the transfer window closed.
Additionally, the biggest commonality is that both players just returned from the 2023 Worlds, where they were defeated by T1 with the same score of 0-3. Of course, TheShy and Tarzan performed below their potential when facing T1. However, TheShy was somewhat better, as he attempted several plays to create breakthroughs during the match.

Additionally, both are victims of T1 with the same score of 0-3.
Right after it was announced that Tarzan would also take a break for the new season, numerous comments began to “remind” T1. Some fans joked that T1’s overwhelming performance might have caused players to suffer “psychological trauma,” forcing them to take a break to regain their spirits. For those who don’t know, TheShy was completely dominated by Zeus in all three matches. Meanwhile, Tarzan couldn’t even secure a single Dragon buff when LNG faced T1 in the Quarterfinals. After the match, the former Griffin star faced a lot of backlash from the fans of “Suzhou Unicorns.”

The psychological issue may still persist, especially for TheShy, as this can be considered his most successful LPL Summer and Worlds since the former Invictus Gaming star lost his form. Nevertheless, both TheShy and Tarzan are top-tier superstars, and they have not announced their retirement. Therefore, fans can certainly look forward to seeing improved performances once these two stars return to professional League of Legends.
