As we know, 2022 marked one of the most spectacular victories in the history of LoL World Championship. No one could believe that DRX, often viewed as the “point farm” in LCK, would stage such an incredible comeback, defeating one strong opponent after another. Ultimately, they achieved a glorious victory against T1 in the finals of the Worlds 2022 to claim the championship. This was a match where, prior to the game, DRX was seen as sure to lose, and many fans and experts believed that T1 would undoubtedly lift the trophy.

However, even after T1’s victory at Worlds 2023, the issues between Riot and DRX have not subsided. Many DRX fans and supporters of Deft discovered that Riot had yet to release the championship emblem for the Worlds 2022 DRX as of January 11 (Vietnam time).

In light of this surprising discovery, many viewers also realized that Riot seemed to have somewhat “neglected” DRX, since the emote for T1 was even released before the champions of 2022. One blunt opinion stated: “Because DRX does not generate profit. In fact, the team completely disbanded before the current season started, so where are the fans?” This is a rather harsh reality, as by the beginning of the 2024 season, none of the six members of DRX’s 2022 championship team still wore the “Blue Dragon” jersey.

Nevertheless, after DRX fans voiced their concerns, Riot seems to have recognized its oversight and made appropriate adjustments. In a recent update, Riot added DRX’s emote priced at 1 Blue Essence in accordance with this type of expression in the in-game store of LoL.

However, Riot has not made any further comments regarding this incident. The real reason why DRX’s emote took more than a year to appear will likely remain a mystery that Riot never discloses to its player community.
