After a long period of continuous drama, along with signs of poor mental health and well-being, EGO has completely left the professional League of Legends scene. However, he still engages in activities like streaming or boosting. The problem is that these jobs are not going well and have led EGO into new dramas. Recently, the former CERBERUS Esports star caused quite a stir when he was accused of accepting a boosting deal but failing to fulfill the terms. After that, EGO disappeared for a while until he resurfaced recently.

However, EGO has made it impossible for himself to return to VCS. Recently, the former CES star posted a statement claiming he would be “better off not pursuing a professional player career.” Additionally, EGO confirmed in the post that he has “retired.” Yet, in some recent moves, EGO has shown a desire to return to the professional path. Notably, EGO even “stormed” into the chat box of SofM’s fan club to send a request to the co-owner of Vikings Esports.

Of course, EGO’s actions can be understood as him being at a dead end, leading him to use every possible method and leverage all his relationships. However, it seems EGO did not realize, or for some reason, used the fan club chat box to send his request instead of taking a more formal, professional path. EGO’s actions have made it difficult for not only SofM fans but also the general VCS audience to accept.

Furthermore, in the past, Zeros accused EGO of exploiting SofM’s image and the title of “SofM’s successor” to “scoop” donations from the VCS community. Perhaps, at this point, even SofM, despite wanting to help, does not know how to assist EGO. Meanwhile, the former VCS Winter 2020 champion has effectively stripped himself of his own opportunities.

Perhaps, EGO should accept the reality that the door to returning to professional VCS is increasingly closing for him. And foremost, the reason lies with EGO himself for not giving himself any opportunities.
